Hurricane Harvey brought unprecedented devastation to Houston, Texas and surrounding areas, causing widespread, catastrophic flooding and damage to Texas communities.
Irma was one of the most powerful hurricanes ever measured in the Atlantic. Before it destroyed homes and businesses in Florida, Irma caused unprecedented damage in the Caribbean including the British Virgin Islands, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Barbados, Antigua, and Barbuda.
Earthquakes in Mexico
On Sept. 7th, an 8.1M earthquake destroyed Oaxaca and Chiapas. Less than two weeks later on Sept. 19, 2017, Mexico City and surrounding areas including Morelos and Puebla suffered catasrophic damages from a 7.1M earthquake. Hundreds were killed. Homes, schools, and community buildings were destroyed.
Hurricane Maria caused devastating flooding and destruction in the Caribbean, destroying homes in Puerto Rico, BVI and Dominica, just two weeks following Hurricane Irma. Maria was particularly damaging to the entire island of Puerto Rico, where over 3.5 million residents were left without power, many homes were lost, and access to food, water and medical care became nearly impossible.
Wildfires have spread rapidly through parts of southern California, destroying homes and prompting evacuations. This fund will provide relief to people impacted by the fires in the form of emergency supplies like food, water, and medicine, in addition to longer-term recovery assistance to help residents recover and rebuild. All donations to this fund will exclusively support wildfire relief and recovery efforts in California.
